Its Saturday afternoon, I'm sitting in an internet cafe in Stone Town on the Island of Zanzibar. Charlotte and John are a couple of seats away working on their own computer stuff. Tomorrow will be the end of trip no. 1 and then we begin the second leg down to Livingstone. We have had 18 people on this Exodus trip and it has been pretty fabulous. Next trip their will only be 5 of us. This will give lots of room but will feel different.
We have been bumping around the roads of Kenya and Tanzania. Dust is flying and we are constantly grimey. I think we have now seen the following animals while on game drives: wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, rhino, hippo, lots of antelopes, hyena, warthog, monkeys, and baboons.
Since arriving on Zanzibar 4 days ago we have been in luxury with beds to sleep on, sit down toilets and hot showers. I think I feel rested to begin the camping again. One night while camping we had zebra walk right through our campsite and previously there were buffalo. Great adventures.
I leave to fly home from Johannesburg on November 22nd which is now coming very quickly. I arrive back in Toronto sometime on November 23rd. Can't wait to see so many people again.
